LIMA -- Anthony Eugene Tyre, 75 of Lima, passed away May 19, 2025, at his home. Tony was born July 26, 1949 in Lima, to Leonard and Vera (Williams) McGee, who preceded him in death.
Tony was a 1967 graduate of Lima Senior High School and he proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked as a Corrections Officer for over 20 years, ending his career working for the State of Ohio. Tony was an incredibly talented artist, especially when it came to drawing, and he had a beautiful singing voice. He loved being outside, particularly fishing and golfing, and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Adrienne (David) Pressburger; grandson, Graham Pressburger; siblings, Judith Totty, David (Sheril) Tyre, Jeff McGee, Jay (Linda) McGee, Gina McGee; sister-in-law, Laurel Sexton and his close cousin, Timmy McGee. Tony came from a large family and he dearly loved all of his nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Gurley and his brothers-in-law, Junice Totty and Nathan Gurley.
Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
