Carolyn Lanczak

1948 - 2023

LIMA -- Carolyn A. Lanczak, 75, of Lima passed away at 10:20 AM on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Springview Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on June 15, 1948 in Lima to Jack and Mary (Bergfeld) Redding, who both preceded her in death, In November of 1983, she married Frank Lanczak, who preceded her in death in April of 2016.

Carolyn was a daycare provider in her home. She was a 1966 graduate of Lima Central Catholic and was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church. She enjoyed anything dealing with water, boating, sailing and swimming. She loved to attend car shows and riding in classic cars. She also enjoyed crafting and sewing, having made many clothes for her children including Halloween costumes. She was an avid animal lover, especially her dog Lucy, who went everywhere with her.

Surviving are her four children Brett Bowsher of Elida, Amy Bowsher of Delaware, OH, Ashley (David) Germaine of Lutz, Fl and Brandon (Rachel) Lanczak of Richmond, TX; her four grandchildren Kala Bowsher, Taylor Lanczak, Paige Lanczak and Jayden Rhoades; her four great-grandchildren; her siblings David (Susie) Redding, Tim (Elaine) Redding, Jeff (Bridgette) Redding, Lisa Ferguson and Julie Redding.

She was preceded in death by her sister Susie Bryan and her brothers-in-law Brent Bryan and Fred Ferguson.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 240 W. Robb Ave, Lima.

Father Mike Sergi will officiate the Mass.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
