LIMA -- Chad Vernon Smith, 51, of Lima, passed away at his residence at 7:30 pm on Saturday, September 24, 2022, with his family at his side. He was born on June 10, 1971, the son of Steven Smith, and Marcee Estes Graymire, both parents survive in Lima.
Chad owned his own lawncare company, Advanced Lawnscapes, and had an extensive knowledge of animals and plants. He was a loving father to his daughters, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He attended Cable Rd. Alliance Church, where he felt love and acceptance from his church family.
Chad is survived by his two daughters; Brenna Smith, of Lima, and Kymber Smith, of Kenton. His parents; Steve (Carol) Smith, and Marcee Estes Graymire, his step-father, Richard (Susan) Graymire, of Clearwater, Florida: His sisters; Sarah (Dan) Freel of Chicago, and Marcie Graymire of Florida. His brothers are; Zack (Jan Bartlett) Graymire, of Lima, Jerrod (Rachel) Smith, of Spencerville, and Jordan (Lauren) Smith of Spencerville. Also surviving are aunts and uncles; Mike (Ruby) Estes of Elida, Nancy (Bruce) Kizer, of Elida who he had a very special bond with, and Tim (Anna) Smith of Belize, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank St. Rita's Hospice, (Dawn, Jill and Jenny) as they provided excellent care to Chad as he completed his earthly journey. The family would also like to thank Dr. Andrew Merrill, physicians, nurses and staff at St. Ritas Medical Center for the care they have provided for the past 3 years.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805 from 6-8 pm, and on Monday October 3, 2022 from 10am to 11 am at which time the service will begin at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Jason Snyder.
