WAPAKONETA — Christine Delight Schaffer, 52, passed away suddenly at her residence Tuesday morning, October 5, 2021.
She was born August 14, 1969 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Julius J. and Arliss U. Ralston Herron. On June 21, 1997 she married James A. Schaffer, who survives, along with their daughter Holly R. Schaffer of Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are her step children, James A. Schaffer, Jr. and Beth Ann Schaffer, both of Spencerville; her siblings, Ernest P. Herron of Spencerville, Randy S. (Tammy) Herron of Wapakoneta, Mark E. (Crystal) Herron of Ft. Jennings, Brad K. (Milissa) Herron of Spencerville and Amy D. Mullins of Waynesfield; her Aunts, Mary (Richard) Butler of VA and Roberta Whited of MI., Uncles Wendell Ralston of Van Wert, Clem (Deb) Ralston of Mendon and Bart Ralston of Lima.
Christine was a 1987 graduate of Spencerville High School and recently graduated from college to become a Certified Dietary Manager. She was presently working as Dietary Manager at Cridersville Health Care Center, where she had worked the past 25 years.
She was extremely dedicated to the residents and always made sure they came first. Chris was always there for her friends and family whenever anyone needed anything. She was the first to step up and offer to help out.
In her free time she loved antiquing and especially loved adding to her vintage "Tins" and thrift shopping. She will be deeply missed and the hole in our hearts will never be filled.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville with Pastor Tom Shobe officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Mendon.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
