WAPAKONETA -- Cynthia Lee Smith, age 68 of Wapakoneta, made her eternal journey home at 7:49 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023 at St. Rita's Mercy Health, Lima. She was born May 30, 1954 in Lima, Ohio to Donald E. and Loretta Jean Kennedy Davis. Her father preceded her in passing January 9, 2013, and her mother survives in rural Wapakoneta. On November 10, 1973, she married Danny Ray Smith, her devoted husband who survives.
She was multi-talented and gave 100% to all she did. Sewing was something she took great pride in and would make clothes for her family and others. Quilting was another one of her joys. People would see her creations and purchase her quilts. She made joyful music on the piano, cooking and trying new recipes, working on crafts, and gardening.
Cindy attended Immanuel Baptist Church and lived a Christian life. Her heart was big, she loved life, cats, and especially her family. She will be remembered for being a beautiful person inside and out, with a giving heart.
Also surviving is a brother - David E. Davis of Cridersville; 2 sisters - Sharon (Everett) Gross of St. Johns; Christina Davis of Newark, Delaware; a former brother-in-law - Steve; 2 sisters-in-law - Ida (Michael) Helmlinger of St. Mary's; Barbara Sue Smith of Lima; 2 brothers-in-law - Aubrey (Deb) Smith of St. Marys; Carl (Diana) Walti of Cridersville and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in passing by a sister-in-law - Laurie Davis.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Paul Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31st at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home.
