ELDIN BROWN
LIMA — Eldin Edison "Bus" Brown age 92 died in Roselawn Manor, Spencerville, Ohio on January 2, 2014 of natural causes.
Bus was born in Lima, Ohio to Bearl and Ethel Pearl Cummins Brown on May 5, 1921. He married Julia Good and the union produced five children. The marriage ended in divorce. Bus married Olga Jacecko on December 27, 1969 who survives.
Surviving relatives include three sisters: Betty Roose of Lima; Gloria Jenner of Lima and Donna Mae Deitzel of Canton, Ohio; all five children: Georgeana (Stan) Strayer, Gatlinburg, TN; Marcia Frankhouser, Pittsburg, CA; Glenna Dray, Ludington, MI; Dorene Cardozo, Bloomington, IL; Emerson Brown Alameda, CA and Olga's daughter Patricia Cooper. Also surviving are grandchildren: Christopher (Nicole) Strayer, Columbus, Ohio; Heidi (Jeff) Wilcox, Marysville, Ohio; Jessica Strayer Nashville, TN; Blake (Jamie) Osting, Kossuth, Ohio; Alana (Rick) Moore, Lima, Ohio; Brian (Stephanie) Dray, Gomer, Ohio; Greg (Kim) Dray Dallas, TX; Rachel Cardozo, Austin, TX; Joel Cardozo, Bloomington, IL.
Also surviving are 13 great-grandchildren and one 1 great-great-grandchild.
Three brothers and a sister preceded Bus in death: Jay Brown, Russell Brown, Claude Brown, Don Brown and Barbara Ream.
Bus served with the United States Army from 1944 – 1946. He was employed for many years by the Elida local schools as a maintenance manager. He was previously employed by Neal Machine & Tool and Steeles Paints Co.
Bus enjoyed playing blue grass music on his harmonica with his friends at many gathering and special events. Grover Hill was one of his favorite jam venues.
Visitation is from 10:00 – 12:00 on Monday January 6, 2014 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL, 1170 Shawnee Road, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin immediately after the visitation at 12:00 noon. Rev. Jerry Hall will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
