ST. MARYS -- Elizabeth "Jeannie" Meyer, 67, of Saint Marys, died suddenly on February 6, 2025, at her residence.
She was born February 12, 1957, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (Klaus) Meyer.
She is survived by her brother, Lucian (Linda) Meyer of Wapakoneta, and by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her siblings: Christopher Meyer; Michael Meyer; John Meyer; Frank Meyer; Paul Meyer and Marie Meyer.
Jeannie was a 1975 graduate of Delphos St. John High School and a 1979 graduate of Mount St. Joseph College in Cincinnati.
Jeannie was the co-owner of Spring Flowers in Saint Marys. She and her sister, Marie, started the flower shop in the late 1970's, and worked together to share the beauty of flowers at countless weddings, birthdays, funerals and other special occasions in the area. The two sisters were well known for their unique personalities. Jeannie will be remembered as the "nice sister" at the flower shop, as Marie was a free spirit who never failed to speak her mind. Jeannie was a very kind, loving person who always thought the best of others; she was fun, easy going and friendly. She gave her life to the shop, working 7 days a week with Marie, and later, her brother, Mike, so that others may find joy in flowers and plants.Although she was a very private person, she enjoyed talking with her close friends, getting lunch at the former Miller's Cafe and caring for her Victorian home. She loved her cat and enjoyed walking around the Meyer family farm. After Mike and Marie died, she just couldn't face running the flower shop without them, as her family, and her friends were the most important thing to her. She had planned to be a librarian, but her commitment to her family and the community took her on a path of love and serving in a quiet, beautiful way as inspired by her Catholic faith.
Funeral rites will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, Februay 22, 2025, at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, Pastor Bob Sweeney, officiant.

Becky and I haven't lived in St. Marys for over 40 years. But before we moved, we got to know Jeannie and Marie quite well. Spring Flowers was definitely our go-to flower shop on many occasions. We didn't know of Marie's passing until reading this obituary. That's such a sorrowful loss to the town and their family. May they rest in peace.
