HENDERSONVILLE, NC -- George H. Morgan, 96, died at the Carolina Reserve Assisted Living Facility in Hendersonville, North Carolina on May 25, 2022.
He was born February 21, 1926, in McGuffey, Ohio, to Nellie and Homer Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice, his parents, his brothers Gene, Ray and Harry and his sister Mildred.
He is survived by his three children: David (Debra) Morgan of Findlay, Ohio; Jeffrey (Connie) Morgan of Vienna, VA; and Susan Morgan (Bruce) Thompson of Fletcher, NC. His four grandchildren: Melanie (Jason) Martin of Hilliard, Ohio; Mandy (Dustin) Lewis of Mount Joy, PA; Lucas Morgan of Morristown, NJ; and Jesse (Stephanie) Morgan of Herndon, VA; six great grandchildren: Dakota, Jade, Brynn, Brandt, Diezel and Dylan.
George was a veteran, having served in the Army during WWII. He worked as a Quality Control Specialist at Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville, OH until his retirement. George and Janice loved to travel, and especially enjoyed visiting National Parks across the United States. They enjoyed entertaining friends at their home in Lima, hosting evenings of card-playing and homemade food. George appreciated the simple things in life and was always thankful for the beautiful things in nature, especially flowers, birds, and the beauty of the Fall Season.
Visitation will be Friday, June 3rd, at 10:00 AM 11:30 AM, with a service following at 11:30 AM at Chamberlain Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. There will be a private burial at Preston Cemetery, Alger, Ohio. Terri Wies-Haithcock will officiate.
