LIMA -- Gregory S. Gallant, 61, of Lima, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic. He was born on September 12, 1962 in Lima to the late Jack and Margaret "Peg" {DaPrato} Gallant.
Greg graduated from Lima Central Catholic Highschool in 1980 and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He lived for watching his children play sports and had a love for coaching several local and traveling sports teams for over 25 years. He liked cars, playing the drums, and above all else, spending time with his grandchildren, especially in the last couple of years. Greg was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed being around people and touched many lives.
He is survived by his children: Tyler (Carlie) Gallant, Chris Gallant, Roger Brown, and Aleshia Brown, grandchildren: Addison, Cameron, Lilly, Jaden, Carson, Bryson, and Dalton, siblings: Jack Gallant, Maxine Salyers, and Cheryl Atkinson, numerous friends and extended family, including Kelly Gallant.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law: Wayne Salyers, mother of his children: Michelle Gallant, and his dearest friend: Bill Yetman.
His family will receive friends on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 2-8 p.m. at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima. A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the funeral home. Friends may visit one hour prior to the funeral from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

To all of Greg's family, I am very sorry to hear about Greg's passing. I only saw him on occasion since we graduated but always enjoyed our brief encounters and catching up with each others goings on. Greg was a very nice man and will be missed!
