HANS BRUECKNER
BRITTON, Mich. — Hans Christian Brueckner, age 42, passed as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on January 18, 2017. He was born on January 18, 1975 in Washington Courthouse, OH, the son of Paul Bruno and Shirley Ann Brueckner. On May 13, 2005, Hans married Melissa May Vorhes in Nassau, Bahamas. Hans was in the graduating class of 1993 from Bath High School.
Hans loved spending time with his wife and children whether it was playing Star Wars with Jack or cooking in the kitchen with Lily. Traveling to experience new places with his family was such a joy. He was always there to help out a friend or a family member.
Summer 2016 Hans wanted to take a cross country trip with his family. He felt that you never know when they would have the opportunity again and wanted to be sure to make memories with his family. They headed west, traveling 4,000 miles, eating picnic lunches with stops at Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone Park. Creating memories along the way.
His strength as a leader, organizer and teacher will be truly remembered and so missed.
Hans is survived by his loving wife, Missy; their children, Jackson Conner and Lillian Akira Brueckner of Britton, MI; his parents Paul and Shirley Brueckner of Lima, OH; Brother Nicholas (Andrea) Brueckner of Locust Grove, GA and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Wayne and Ruth Ogg and Rev. Bruno Brueckner and Lillian Brueckner Pollard.
Visitation for Hans will be held on January 21, 2017 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Homes with the Rev. Tobin Tidswell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for college funds to be set up for Jack and Lily. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.handlerfuneralhomes.com.
