Irene Killl Obituary

IRENE KILL

DELPHOS — Irene A. Kill, 101, of Delphos, was reunited with the Lord on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Delphos.

She was born January 29, 1915, in Putnam County to George A. and Elizabeth (Hoffman) Martin. Both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Linus J. Kill on May 27, 1933; he preceded her in death on November 24, 1994.

She is survived by three daughters, Janice Mace of Van Wert, Patricia (John) Wellmann of Delphos, and Mary Lou (Ed) Paxton of Venedocia; one son, Daniel M. (Robin) Kill of Delphos; two sisters, Leona (Bill) Adams of Grover Hill, and Helen Cross of Delphos; 15 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren, with two on the way; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-laws, Alma Dampf of Ca. and LaDonna (Virgil) Birgen of Las Vegas, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, Joseph Kill and a son, Jerald A. Kill; one brother, Albert Martin; six sisters, Frances Kroeger, Eleanora Grothouse, Catherine Miller, Marie Etzkorn, Viola Studenka, and Jane Young; son-in-law, Russell W. Mace; and two great-grandsons, Chandler Layton and Aaron McBride.

Irene was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. She was a home maker and a farmer's wife. She loved playing bingo, square dancing, gardening, and loved to shop, but truly loved crocheting many things for her family, especially her grandchildren. Irene's driving force in life was her faith. Her faith showed through in all she did from the 14 years she spent building her Vancrest family through to her own family; especially the faith and dedication she spent on being a very proud farmer's wife.

Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Landeck. Father George Mahas will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 p.m.
