FT. JENNINGS — Irma Ricker, 99, of Ft. Jennings, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born on November 26, 1921, to Robert and Elizabeth (Sendelbach) Will. They preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Vincent Schuerman who died in 1965. On November 25, 1972, she was united in marriage to James F. Ricker. He also preceded her in death, May 17, 2009.
Irma is survived by her son, David (Stacy) Schuerman of Huntington, IN, and daughter, Dawn (Craig) Murphy of Ft. Jennings; thirteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Smith; two grandchildren, Tammy and Christopher; four brothers, Donald, Elmer, Melford "Skip", and Merle Will; and three sisters, Ruth Raines, Esther Lemke, and Melba "Jane" Ellerbrock.
Irma was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings. She was also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia Council 88. She was a past president of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Delphos 471, serving many terms. Irma worked for Meyers cleaners and was a farmer's wife which entailed many different jobs. Irma had a passion for woodworking, which she had been taught by her father as a child. She made elaborate furniture including large roll top desks, book shelves, and porch swings just to name a few. Irma also made and sold many working windmills. She continued to work in her shop until the age of 90.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, where there will be public viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Father Charles Obinwa will officiate. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be given in Irma's honor to the American Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements were entrusted to Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
