LIMA — James W. Baden, 74, passed away December 10, 2018, at 6:54 pm, Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim was born January 25, 1944 in Lima, OH, to Harold and Ruth (Hull) Baden who both preceded him in death. On May 20, 1992 he married Eileen Zink who survives in Lima, Ohio.
Jim graduated from Shawnee High School in 1962. He then started working at Ohio Teledyne & Steel in the mail room and worked himself up to heat treater and retired after 28 years of service. He then worked at Setex for five years. He loved to go to Lima Land with Eileen and watch dirt track racing. He also loved NASCAR and rooting for Jeff Gordon. Jim was a avid fan of Ohio State athletics and the Cleveland Browns. Jim and Eileen also loved to go to casinos and some of their favorites were Hollywood Casino in Toledo and Caesar's in Windsor, Ontario.
Jim is survived by his life partner, Eileen Zink of Lima, OH, children, Sherree Sturgeon of Lima, OH, Stacy (Vincent Wagoner) Amstutz of St. Marys, OH, grandchildren, Brookelynne Sturgeon of Lima, OH, Alaina Sturgeon of Lima, OH, Allison Orick of St. Marys, OH, Raegan Amstutz of St. Marys, OH, Brandyn Amstutz of St. Marys, OH, Blake Wagoner of St. Marys, OH, Caitlyn Wagoner of Lima, OH, Arianna Wagoner of Coldwater, OH, Emmalyn Amstutz of St. Marys, great-grandchild, Arianna Sturgeon of Lima, OH, sister-in-law, Deb (Joe) Koenig of Wapakoneta, OH, sister, Lisa (Larry) Beiderman of Ada, OH, nephews, Ty Biederman of Bluffton, OH, Ryan Biederman of Hillard, OH, Jeff Laman, and also his beloved fur baby, Molly Mae.
Jim is preceded in death by his sister, Linda (Roger) Laman.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3345 NW, Lima, Ohio 45801.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to his nurses Holly at Mercy Health - St. Rita's and Shannon and Emily from Dr. Tripuraneni office for their excellent care given to Jim.
