LIMA -- James "Jimmy" Alvin Hubbard Jr., age 69, passed away on December 29, 2022, at 8:30 am, at the Lost Creek Care Center. Jimmy was born May 17, 1953, in Russellville, AL, to James Elkins Hubbard and Carolyn Fay "Boo" Cooper who both preceded him in death. On August 4, 1972, he married Maxine (Manley) Hubbard who survives in Lima.
Jimmy had worked with General Motors in Defiance, OH for 16 years and then transferred to Consolidated Biscuit in McComb, OH and worked there until 2014 when his health prevented him from working any longer. James loved to fish and spending time with his grandchildren.
Jimmy is survived by his children: Honora D. (Melvin Love) Manley, Tamiko K. Hubbard and James Lamond Hubbard all of Lima, OH, 10 grandchildren: Bryan (Dystinee Ramos) Upshaw Jr., Deshun (Alexus Webb) Little Jr., Yavi Manley, Dyqwanna Hubbard, Jaywanna (Mike Thurman) Hubbard, Dren'ta Moore, Breanna Hubbard, Lamonica Hubbard, Lamond James Hubbard and Lariah Hubbard, 13 great grandchildren, 2 sisters: Teresa (Dennis) Henry and Bonnie Boddie both of Lima, OH and his aunts, Sybleane Cooper-Cherry of Detroit, MI and Esterine Cooper of Russellville, AL and a special brother in-law, Leonard Bingham of Lima, OH. He was preceded in death by his step-father who raised him, Starling Boddie.
There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 12 noon at the Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Officiating the service will be Pastor Floyd Upshaw. Following the service entombment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eastside Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Rest Church at 1251 South Union St., Lima, OH 45804. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
