JAMES SILONE
NEWARK — James E. "Jim" Silone Sr., 74, of Newark formerly of Lima, was called into the presence of the Lord, at 7:17 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at Hospice of Central Ohio in Licking Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born August 1, 1940 in Lima, to the late Francis and Thelma Silone. On August 7, 1965 he married Mary C. (Musto) Silone, who survives in Newark. They would have celebrated fifty years this year.
Jim was a graduate of Lima Central High School. He retired from the DANA Corporation in 2002 and was owner / operator of Geno's Pizza. Jim was a proud husband, dad, and grandpa, who's greatest joy was his grandchildren. Jim also enjoyed woodworking.
Jim and Mary were blessed with two sons, Dr. James E. "Jim" (Dr. Karen Smith-Silone) Silone Jr. of Granville, and William P. "Bill" (Angela) Silone of Pataskala; and three granddaughters, Gabriella L. Silone, Corrine E. Silone, and Abigail M. Silone.
Other survivors include, sister, Rose Silone of Omaha, NE; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Cheryl) Musto of Lima, Dominic (Sue) Musto of Lima; five sisters-in-law, Tina (Dave) Moody of Lima, Judy (Rex) Scheele of Lakeview, Sue Kline of Lima, Linda Musto of Lima, Pat Musto of Lima; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers, Tom Silone and Frank Silone; and two brothers-in-law, Richard "Dick" Musto, and William "Bill" Musto.
Graveside services will begin 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Gethsemami Cemetery, 2001 Spencerville Road, Lima, Ohio 45805. Father David Ross will officiate.
Friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 15 at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL,1170 Shawnee Road, Lima, Ohio 45805.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark, Ohio 43055 or donor's choice.

Sad to hear of Jim's passing. My condolences to his family. I worked with Jim. Remember his first day at Dana and remember how hard he worked as a union steward. He always stood up for the people he represented. Once again, so sorry. A good guy and had some good laughs with him.
