LIMA -- Jeffrey "Jeff" D. Darst, 62, passed away March 12, 2022, at 11:00 pm, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Jeff was born May 9, 1959 in Lima, OH, to William "Bill" and Norma (Willis) Firszt who both preceded him in death.
Jeff attended Lima Senior High School. He was very gifted in woodworking. He took great pride in working with the Burden Construction family. Jeff also was very talented playing musical instruments and played various guitars and owned his own drum set. He was also known for having a green thumb and having many gardening projects. Jeff loved his family dearly and enjoyed having many cookouts with his loved ones.
Jeff is survived by his step-mother, Mary Ann Kinstle - Darst of Lima, OH, and her children, Rebecca "Becky" (Bill) Bailey of Ft. Wayne, IN, Craig (Anna) Kinstle of Anna, OH, Robert "Bob" (Sandy) Kinstle of Wapakoneta, OH, Linda (Tony) Raterman of Botkins, OH, Jeff's children, Deanna Darst of Longmont, CO, Julianna Darst of Longmont, CO, David Darst of Lima, OH, siblings, Jan (Patty) Firszt of NY, Anya, Barb (Greg) Moreland of Edson, KS, Lara Darst of Lima, OH, grandchildren, Ariel, Clayton, Bentley, Cohen and he also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph "Joe" Firszt.
Memorial contribution may be made to St. Rita's Hospice, 959 W North Street, Lima, Ohio 45805.

I still have great memories of sharing musical inspirations, playing loud hard driving rock, and jamming with Jeff over by West Jr High school. We were wild and crazy teenagers RIP my friend and prayers to the family that has lost a kind soul!
