Louise- So sorry for you and Jaime's loss. A caller told Becky B about his passing just this week. I always remember when I visited the church when my family came to Maumee Bay- we went up for communion and I almost fell prostrate before the Lord as the kneeling rail was not locked. Also I was there the day they had a suprise party for him and we all wore glasses and mustaches. Wonderful servant of God called home. But I know he will be in your heart every moment. God Bless Janet

I was so sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. I was so thrilled that he hired me to be St. Luke's Lamb of God Preschool Director and Teacher in 1994. I was there for 9 years. I also didn't realize that he married Louise who was a sister of two brothers that I graduated with from Westerville South High School in 1969. My deep condolences to Louise. He was amazing with my preschool children in how he could take an object and relate a story to the children about God's love. That made an impression on me. He will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Kimpel, Jamie, Dan: from my family to yours, we extend peace and grace and solace and sympathy during what can only be an extraordinarily difficult time.
If I may be able to share with you... Pastor Kimpel was the first person I can remember who displayed faith as a characteristic of one's self, and not just a word shared in Sunday's services or school. He was gentle, smart, funny, compassionate, inquisitive, and energetic. Quite simply: he engaged. Even as a small boy I recognized it and admired it. While under his watchful care at St. Johns in Fowlerville, I consistently felt his willingness to connect, to understand, to relate.
To this day, I attribute the foundation of my faith to his influence. I am mournful to hear of his passing, yet celebratory (in a selfish discontent) to know that I learned and grew from him.
May He who lifts his countenance upon us all and gives us peace bestow it upon you in the trying days and weeks and months ahead.
Godspeed, Pastor Kimpel. Thank you for your blessings. Thank you for your faith. Thank you for your spirit.
Sincerely yours... still that little boy in Fowlerville,
Dan & Jan O'Neil

There was always a thread of continuity between Barnhardts and Kimpels through our Church Families, from Zion Lutheran Church where we grew up and St Luke's Lutheran Church where he officiated at my parent's funeral service. While this saddens me, I also feel the calm as Jeff also gave us as a pastor when my sisters and I needed to hear it. This is what all those sermons were prepared for and what he believed in. He's gone on home.
