LIMA — Jill L. (Faurot) Gerken, 80, passed away at 6:27 p.m. on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at The Greens of Lima.
She was born on March 18, 1941 in Lima to Leonard and Virginia (Pifer) Faurot, who both preceded her in death.
Jill was a 1959 graduate of Lima Senior High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She worked as a counselor at Mercy Hall at St. Rita's Medical Center. In 1988, she made a major life change by moving to Santa Rosa, CA and began studying and practicing Breathwork as a non-chemical, alternative therapy for people dealing with addiction and life traumas. She opened her own counseling practice, "Center for Change". She continued to study and provide counseling and workshops in Northern California area for over 14 years. She loved to help people.
Surviving are her son BJ (Kerry) Adams of Lima; her daughter Sheri (Vincent) Ridenour of Corona, CA; her grandson Cale Adams of Lima; her brothers George "Tip" (Frances) Faurot of Los Altos, CA and Leonard "Chip" Faurot of Talkeetna, AK; her sister Jean (Michael) Neering of Santa Rosa, CA; her sister-in-law Leslie Faurot of Boulder, CO; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Jon Faurot; her sisters Judy Faurot and Janice Faurot.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held from 4:00 p,m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lima Convalescent Home, The Alzheimer's Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Greens, House A with a special thanks to: Gloria, Miranda and Veda. Thank you for your love and compassion.
