LIMA — Joe Warren Leatherman, 93, died at 2:27 PM on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at his residence in Lima, Ohio.
Joe was born on Friday, January 25, 1924, in Waynesfield, to Garner and Vonna (Hanley) Leatherman, who preceded him in death. On Friday, March 4, 1949, he married Eleanor Reese who survives.
He enjoyed watching Ohio State Football, going hunting and especially fishing. He headed Christian Businessmen Luncheon in Lima. He loved spending winter in warm Florida.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Tina Marie Kirkland; grandchildren, Jason (Sandy) Ayers, Brian Ayers, and Joshua Ayers and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Debra Delucia; grandson, Bradley Joseph Kirkland; sister, Betty Holdridge; brothers, Jim Leatherman and Jack Leatherman.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5:30 PM on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Monday, December 11, 2017 at Bluelick Bible Church in Lima, Ohio. Pastor James Neighbors will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
