John Carroll Obituary
LIMA -- John Edward Carroll "Pahoo", age 58 of Lima, Ohio was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and a cherished friend of many.
John passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio with his wife by his side.
John was born to Ronald "Ray" Carroll and the late Ruth (O'Keefe) Carroll on April 22, 1965, in Lima.
On Saturday, August 14, 1993, John married the love of his life Ann Marie Burkholder, and they were 2 months shy of their 30th anniversary.
John had a passion for sports and coached youth football and youth wrestling for approximately 12 years at Elida Local Schools. He was employed by Kmart 4301, Brinks Armored Car Service, Northwestern College, Elida Police Department, Cairo Police Department, Lima Correctional Institution, North Central Correctional Institution, and most recently Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Carroll and brother-in-law, Garry Sevitz both of Lima.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of Lima, sons, Theran E. (Victoria) Carroll of Lima and Torey K. (Sydney) Carroll of West Chester and a grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his father, Ray Carroll of Elida, siblings, Lisa Carroll of Elida, Deb Sevitz of Elida and Dan (Lea Ann) Carroll of McGuffey, mother-in-law, Janet (Brian) Stark of Findlay and brothers-in-law, Mike (Angie) Burkholder of Bluffton and Matthew (Missy) Burkholder of Lima, several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
As a true animal lover John had a special place in his heart for "Princess" LillyBelle his 150 Lbs. Neapolitan Mastiff who was definitely a daddy's girl. John had a deep love for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and Cincinnati Bengals.
Per John's request, he asks that no one dress up, but that they wear OSU apparel or something red.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the OSUCCC James Cancer Hospital, Columbus.

I grew up with John. We attended St. Rose Grade School together and were good friends. Eventually John and his family moved, however, we managed to keep in contact over the years. Neither one of us would ever have guessed that decades later we would both be working at the same ODRC facility. I'm going to miss you, brother. To the Carroll family that I grew up with, John's wife and children, I extend my deepest condolences.
