Juanita Gallagher Obituary
LIMA -- Juanita Mae Gallagher, age 100, of Lima, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at 8:15 a.m., at Lima Convalescent Home.
She was born November 22, 1924, in Lima to Jesse and Lula (Bowersock) Armentrout who preceded her in death. On December 1, 1943, she married Robert P. Gallagher who preceded her in death on February 23, 2004.
Surviving are their children: Paul (Joan) Gallagher, Philip (Debra) Gallagher and Dennis (Kathy) Gallagher all of Lima, David (Kimberly) Gallagher of Mesa, AZ, John (Susan) Gallagher of Windsor, CA, Mark (Carol) Gallagher of Bradenton, FL, Peggy (Edmund) Hinders of Wildwood, MO, Sharon (Gary) Lackey of Erie, PA, James (Adele) Gallagher of Falls Church, VA, Edward (Joan) Gallagher of Solon, OH, Timothy (Kathryn) Gallagher of Colorado Springs, CO, and Daniel (Natalie) Gallagher of Lima; 24 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by the following siblings: Marvel Armentrout, Virgil Armentrout, Mary Shriner, Forest Armentrout and Evelyn Bosserman.
Juanita was a stay at home mom who raised 12 (outstanding) children, a great cook and she also made sure they were all dressed up, shoes shined and ready for church every Sunday. She and her husband Bob were co-founders and long-time volunteers for St. Vincent de Paul in Lima. She was a longtime member of St. John's Catholic Church and its Altar Rosary Society. She was currently a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She was an Eucharist Minister at St. Rita's Medical Center and was a 1943 graduate of Central High.
Her Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in St. Rose Catholic Church, with Fr. David Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul.

Surely one of the neatest ladies I have ever had the pleasure to interview. I featured Mrs. G on her 90th birthday when all of her highly successful kids scattered across the contiguous United States returned for a grand birthday party at Gethsemani. The moment she drew her last breath, she was with Our Lord. Condolences to all the Gallaghers. She was such a great lady!
