OTTOVILLE - Julie E. Schmersal, 25, of Ottoville died at 5:56 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, in Cloverdale. She was born July 7, 1992, in Lima to Art and Margie (Wienken) Schmersal who survive in Ottoville.
She is also survived by two brothers, Tony (Lori) Schmersal of Cloverdale and Jared (Denise) Schmersal of Continental; a sister, Maria (Dennis) Renner of Middle Point; her nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly, Ryan, Elyssa, Ethan, Faith, and George; and her godmother, Irene Warren.
Preceding her in death were her paternal grandparents, George and Monica Schmersal; maternal grandparents, George and Violeta Wienken; her godfather, Marcus Roof; and two aunts, Dorothy Wienken and Arlene Bockey.
Julie worked for Horstman Homestead Dairy in Cloverdale. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and also attended St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings. Julie had an associate degree from Ohio State University. She took pride in her sheep and dogs, Molly and Bud, and loved to sew quilts with the wool she got from her sheep. Julie was a very active member of 4H showing animals at the fair. She also volunteered at Challenged Champions Equestrian Center, Ottawa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Monday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a Scripture Service at 1:45 p.m.
