June Klopp Obituary

LIMA — Dora June Klopp, age 93, of Lima passed away 5:50 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 31, 1924 in Allen County to the late Thomas Verly and Velma Angeline Tressel Fleming. She married Robert William Klopp Sept. 18, 1942 and he preceded her in death April 22, 1982.

June graduated from Lima South and was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital and a member of the Auxiliary, Lima Senior Citizens, Arthritic Aquatics Class and Shawnee Bridge Club. She received the Book of Golden Deeds award in 2002 from the Lima Exchange Club.

Survivors include sons: Michael Gene (Marsha) Klopp, Daniel Lee (Janice) Klopp both of Lima, Todd William 'Poke' (Emily) Klopp of Ashburn, Virginia; a daughter: Sandra June Crumrine of Lima; 8 grandchildren: Shannon Crumrine, Benjamin (Bridgett) Klopp, Sarah (Robert) Blanke, Aaron Crumrine, Allison Neal, Ryan (Kelsey) Klopp, Olivia (Robert) Childress and Zane Klopp. She is survived by 11 great grandchildren: Gage Crumrine, Sam and Jack Blanke, Boston and Brynlee Neal, Landon, Hannah and Mia Prince, Esther Childress, Charlee and Beckett Klopp and a sister Jean Ann Swick of Lima.

June was preceded in death by a brother Joe Fleming and a sister Maxine Sweeny.

The family will receive friends 10 – noon Thursday, July 5 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. The funeral will follow at noon with burial in St. Matthew Cemetery.

My deepest sympathies to all of you. I have so many fond memories of June. And I know that Gay already misses her daily chats on the phone. June was always so very nice and patient with Gay. I know that you, Mike, Dan, Sandy and Poke, will have many treasured memories to bring you comfort in your grief. I still smile when I think of the time she was babysitting me and Sandy's cat was having kittens on the porch. I think she thought I was too young to know anything about birth and tried to convince me that the cat was just going to the bathroom! Again, God Bless and give comfort to you.

I was so saddened to hear about dear June's death today. We shared lunches, visits and stories about our children and grandchildren. Whenever I had the opportunity to come to Ohio, we always tried to get in touch. We shared a grand adventure with our Land & Sea tour of Alaska. My grandson, Dr. Brian Taylor, called her his 'grandmother' in Ohio, and I am his grandmother from No. Carolina, currently. She was one of the sweetest, most loving people I have ever met and I shall miss her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt June's passing. I remember coming to stay with her and Uncle Bob when I was young. I always loved staying there. She was always so loving and kind to me. I always looked forward to visiting Lima so I could see her. I will miss her so much. I loved her dearly.
