LIMA -- Kenneth "Kenny" Joseph Schultheis Jr., 16, passed away tragically on Friday, August 15, 2025. He was born on February 28, 2009, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He is survived by his parents Kacie & Jayson Montano and Kenneth Schultheis Sr.; siblings, Kaylynn Ort, Sophia Schultheis, Rylie Montano, Mylie Montano, Kaylie Montano, Kynslie Montano, and Arianna Coon; grandparents, Brenda & Robert Dotson; nine aunts and eight uncles; many, many cousins here and across the globe; and girlfriend, Brooklyn Chaffins.
He was preceded in death by grandpas, David Cochren and Perpetuo Montano; aunt, Maria Montano, three infant siblings, three great-grandmas; and two great-grandpas.
Kenny was one of the kindest, sweetest souls you could ever meet. He had a gentle heart, a warm smile, and a way of making people feel seen and loved. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, he left an impression that would never be forgotten. Kenny loved traveling with family and friends, playing football, wrestling, basketball, swimming, and video games His favorite shows were Outer Banks and NCIS. He loved young kids & babies, and also animals, his favorite being a shark. If Kenny didn't make it to the NFL, he wanted to serve in the military and go to college to become a lawyer or cop.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Lima First Church, 1660 Findlay Rd., Lima. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Darrell Bucher will officiate. There is no dress code for the service, just come as you are.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
