KENNETH WATT
PEORIA, AZ — Kenneth "Ken" Eugene Watt, 89, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2016. He passed away peacefully at his residence for the last two years in Peoria, Arizona with family by his side.
He was born June 28, 1927, in Lafayette, Ohio to Avery L. and Ruby G. (Fleming) Watt who preceded him in death. On October 29, 1947 he married his first and only love Dorothy "Dottie" Estella (Davis) Watt, who passed away October 13, 2008. They were married for 61 blessed years.
After graduating from Lima South High School in 1945; he took engineering courses from Ohio Northern University. For the majority of his working years he was employed by Neon Products Inc. in Lima, Ohio. He worked there as a design engineer before retiring.
Mr. Watt was an active member of Shawnee United Methodist Church where he and his wife volunteered in many programs. He was a participating member of the Shawnee Lions Club, BPOE #54 elks Club and the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio. He enjoyed going to his cottage in Lakeside, Ohio where he loved to fish on Lake Erie. Mr. Watt liked to garden and work in his yard. His favorite times were spent with family and his close friends.
Survivors include his son Kenneth (Kathy) Watt, of Peoria, Arizona; daughter Marsha (Brent) Helmig of Lima; five grandchildren; Kristina (Watt) Mollica of Green, Ohio; Kevin (Angela) Watt of Sun City, Arizona; Kyle Watt, of Peoria, Arizona; Kayla (Justin) Vandemark of Cincinnati, Ohio; Lance Helmig of Perrysburg, Ohio; five great-grandchildren; Ryan and Ashley Mollica, Milan Watt, Ava and Dominik Watt, and Baby Vandemark due in March. He is survived by one brother, Ronald Watt.
He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas E. Watt and his sister, Avanelle Schwartz; his brother-in-laws Henry "Hank" Schwartz, Charles Hofius, Samuel Davis; sister-in-laws Flo Hofius and Philobenia (Davis) Reese.
A memorial service was held November 21, 2016 at Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona.
The memorial service in Lima, Ohio will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Shawnee United Methodist Church. The Reverend Charlotte Hefner will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee United Methodist Church or the choice of the donor.
