Mary Kinzer Obituary

LIMA -- Mary E. Kinzer, age 99, was called into the presence of the Lord at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at home with the love of her family by her side.

Mary was born March 22, 1924, in Lima, OH, to Albert and Anna (Sees) Forche who preceded her in death. On September 1, 1947, she married Henry J. Kinzer who preceded her in death on June 29, 2002, after 54 years of marriage.

Mary was a 1942 graduate of Milan High School, Milan, Ohio and the St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo. She retired from St. Rita's Medical Center in 1986 and was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed board games and playing cards, especially Skip Bo. Her greatest joy was her family, she absolutely adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three children, David M. (Janet) Kinzer, Martha "Marty" A. (Michael) Bassett and Margaret "Maggie" M. (Brian) Walters all of Lima; twelve grandchildren, Tiffany Kinzer, Tara (Ryan) Ring, Matthew (Carissa) Kinzer, Melissa (Jeremy) Foster, Michelle (Brant) Martin, Tina (Nick) Gilbert, Jill (Tyler) Henschen, John (Abby) Walters, Mark Walters, Beth (Devin) Swygart, Lori (Samuel) Swygart, and Kati (Ronnie) Jarvis; twenty one great-grandchildren, Zaiden and Adilyn Kinzer, Sophia Ring, Bryce Foster, Kaylynn and Colin Martin, Brynn, Landon, Carter and Logan Gilbert, Ty and Rylee Henschen, Hayden and Henry Walters, Mason, Kimber and Olivia Swygart, Liam, James and Levi Swygart, Hudson Jarvis and two nieces, and two nephews.

In adddition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Mya and Wyatt Henschen; and eleven siblings, Leo Forche, Edith Myers, Franklin Forche, Donald Forche, Frederick Forche, Agnes Forche, Bernard Forche, Edward Forche, Clotilda "Tillie" Snodgrass, Rita Bentz, and Ruth Romanowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 523 N. West St, Lima, OH 45801. Father David Ross will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church or Lima Central Catholic High School.
