DELPHOS – Michael Allen Bonifas, 71, of Delphos, Ohio passed away October 31, 2023 at St Rita's Medical Center surrounded by his friends and family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on July 31, 1952, in Lima to Rufus D. and Helen T. (Becker) Bonifas. His father preceded him in death, his mother survives in Delphos.
Mike is survived by three boys, Kurt of Delphos, Todd of Scott and Luke (Sarah) Bonifas of Lima; two grandsons, Michael Bonifas and Conor Bonifas; as well as a brother, Gary (Connie) Bonifas of Sidney; sisters, Marie (Tom) Wilson of Sandusky, Barb (Mike - deceased) Creutz of Toledo and Sharon (Gary) Schlereth of New Port Richey, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Michael graduated from Delphos St John's in 1970. He worked at Fruehauf for many years before being hired at Honda in 1989 where he retired from after 25 years of service in 2014. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos. He is also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 1362. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, golfing and watching his Browns, Buckeyes and Indians. He loved anything involving his boys, friends, family and especially his grandsons. He loved to laugh and lived life to the fullest every moment he could. Laughter was a staple in Mike's life and everyone around would sure to be smiling.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a K of C rosary will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Parish Wake Service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude. Condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
