LIMA -- Michael (Wally) Converse, 42, took his final breath at 2:36 p.m. on October 17, 2023 at the Lima Memorial Hospital, with his loving wife and mother by his side. Tragically taken too soon, we honor Michael's legacy by respecting his wish of organ donation. Michael's biggest gift, his heart, along with his liver, kidneys, and tissue will save the life of many. He has given the gift of life to others, a gift of which many are not able give. This reminds us all of the kind, giving, and loving man he is.
Michael, born on September 12th,1981 to Gary and Rose Converse. He was the older of two children, survived by his sister Leah (John) Cannon. On June 4th, 2011, he married the love of his life, Elisha (Thuman). They have shared the last 18 years together creating memories with each other, building a life together, and being best friends. They truly were the perfect match. Together they devoted their entire lives to their boys, Bryce (11) and Mason (9), and their families and close friends.
Michael will forever be missed by many family and friends including: grandparents, Larry (Pat) Thuman, Virginia Tingler, father in law, Todd (Anita) Thuman, brother in law, Brent (Courtney) Thuman and Seth Thuman, mother in law, Angie (Stuart) Combs, brother in law, Shawn (Sara) Combs, and sister in law, Ashley Peterson. Michael is also survived by many nieces and nephews; Dylan, Brayden, Destiny, Skyler, Rylee, Tia, Kamdynn, Payton, Kirian, Makahla, Legna, Hanley, and Jaxson. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. His stepfather, Michael McClintock, and his mother in law, Jackie Thuman, were there to greet Michael in Heaven with a cold beer. He is also preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Seffernick.
Michael most recently worked with Brandin Ochs with BTO construction. Brandin was his best friend and his "other" life partner. He truly enjoyed being able to spend every day with his best friend and could say he loved his job.
Michael was a hardworking man both at work and home. Often his wife would hear "Yes, Dear" in response to requests for new projects around the house. Anything he could do to make her happy he did. Michael also loved riding his Harley, working in his garage, rooting on the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes with his boys, hunting with his father, watching and coaching his boys' soccer and baseball, and being surrounded by those who loved him most.
Please join us in honoring Michael's life and legacy. Visitation will be at Eley Funeral Home & Crematory, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Ohio, on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. with a service to follow led by Pastor Doug Pretorius. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
