LIMA — Michael E. Luke, 69, passed away at 10:30 p.m. on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center.
Michael was born on November 30, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Richard and Doris (Brogan) Luke. On February 14, 1982, he married Bonnie (Stant) Luke who survives in Mendon, OH.
Michael was a graduate of Lima Senior High School, class of 1970. He then served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1971-1975. He retired from Phillips in Ottawa and loved fishing and the outdoors. He especially was known for being the master of story telling and telling "dad jokes".
He is survived by his wife; daughter, Sherry (Chip) Allen; son, Steven (Megan) Luke; grandsons, Tyeler (Julia) Luke and Clyde Allen, plus one on the way, Natalie Grace Luke; great-grandsons, Carson and Brayden Luke; sister, Diana Kay Prine; nephew, Larry (Kelly) Prine III; great-niece, Blythe Prine; and sister-in-law, Jill Luke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn M. Luke, brothers, Robert (Linda) Luke and Lynn Luke, and sister, Judy Luke.
Military honors services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Johnny Appleseed Park District.
