Michael Mammone Obituary

WAPAKONETA -- Michael J. "Mike" Mammone, 66, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 7:56 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022 at his home, surrounded by family listening to the music he loved. He was born on October 20, 1956 in Canton, OH to Albert J. and Maria D. DeCiantis Mammone. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Noelle.

On September 3, 1977, he married Deborah S. "Deb" Denczak, who survives. Survivors also include their four sons, Chris (Meranda) Mammone, of Wapakoneta, Marc (Danielle) Mammone, of Crestwood, KY, Alex (Nikki) Mammone, of Charleston, SC, and Andrew Mammone, of Columbus; five grandchildren, Avery, Hazel, Chance, Isabella, and Emma; three brothers, Joe (Sharon) Mammone, of Elida, Dave (Ali) Mammone, of Lancaster, and Dan (Kim) Mammone, of Morgantown, WV; his parents-in-law, Robert & Agnes Denczak, of Canton; and two brothers-in-law, Robert (Sandy) Denczak, of Dover, and John (Denise) Denczak, of Hartville; and many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Stark Technical College with three associates degrees, Mike retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant after 31 years of service. Mike loved being outdoors... golfing with friends and family, camping with the M&M crew, fishing, or just working on his yard with a Yeungling. Mike celebrated his Italian heritage by being a dedicated family man and centering gatherings around delicious food and good times. He enjoyed classic cars and classic rock, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a Cleveland Brown and a Buckeye...and could watch golf on TV for hours...and he always counted on his partner for 2 tricks...even when he made trump. His family is so thankful for the Lunch Bunch of co-workers and friends who continued to visit and include Mike throughout his illness.

"No matter how he tried he could not break free"

Services will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Father Michael Willig will officiate. My family were neighbors of the Mammone family in Wapak for many years. I have fond memories of Mike, Deb and the boys. May you find peace during this difficult time. On behalf of the Lane family, our sincere condolences for your loss.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Deb and the family. I worked with Mike and and got to spend time with him golfing and bowling. I went to Bartow and Georgetown and got to be Mike's partner and had to "get two tricks" many times. Rest in Peace and suffer no more.

Mike was my general foreman of maintenance for the last seven years of my career at Ford. I golfed with Mike in the Ford league and when we made our trips to Bartow, Florida to golf. Mike was a great organizer and planner and he helped to make our area successful. Good Guy !
