MONA BRAGG
LOUDON, Tenn. — Mona Mae Bragg, 92, peacefully passed away in Loudon, Tennessee with her daughters at her bedside on December 23, 2014.
Mona was born in Kansas City, on Veteran's Day, 1922. She was adopted at birth to Odessa and Clifford Waltz spending her childhood in Oklahoma and Indiana. She lived most of her adult life in Lima, Ohio with her husband, World War II veteran Meredith Bragg, who passed in 1977. Then, she lived nearly 20 years with her daughter and son-in-law, Gwen and Earl Whitney, in Maumee, Ohio.
Mona had a wonderful sense of humor and was a modest, kind and gentle soul. She was an avid reader, traveler, and compassionate friend. She would often remark that her proudest accomplishments in life were her daughters and granddaughter - Gwen, Debra and Michelle.
Mona is survived by Gwen and Earl Whitney of Waynesville, NC; Debra and John Gisler of Waynesville, NC; Michelle and Jason Stafford of Madisonville, TN; and dear and loyal friends Mildred Luquette, Jerry Rhine, Lynda Boedicker, Joyce and Eugene Watts and Louise Whitney.

I remember Mona well when she would visit Debra in Queens Cove. She was a lovely lady who was "adopted" by the ladies' club members as one of their own.
May she rest in peace.

I have so many fond memories of Mona. Such a sweet lady with a gentle heart; always with a big smile and a laugh. Yummy strawberry pies, sometimes not so successful things baked in the oven, playing cards, staying in touch through the years with notes and cards...so many wonderful Metcalf Street memories! Godspeed Mona. Our heartfelt condolences and love to Gwen and Earl, Deb and John and Mimi and Jason.
