LIMA — Monte D. McCormick, 64, passed away on November 22, 2017, at 5:10PM, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Monte was born June 21, 1953 in Henderson, KY, to Carolyn (Dixon) McCormick who preceded him in death. On November 18, 1972 he married Mary Jo (Miller) McCormick who survives in Lima, Ohio.
Monte graduated from Webster County High School in 1971. Monte worked for Superior Forge and Steel as a Melt Superintendent where he eventually retired after 27 years of service. He was a former member of Lima Eagles 370. Monte loved camping with his children and riding his Harley Davidson. Monte received a lot of titles over the years but the title that he was most proud of was being a "Father" and "Grandpa". So to describe Monte it would be Proud-dedicated-and his laugh, that everyone would agree. Family was his best and #1 goal in life. In our eyes he held the honest honors.
Monte is survived by his wife, Mary Jo McCormick of Lima, OH, children. Aaron (Lindsay) McCormick of Lima, OH, Jodee Hennon of Lima, OH, grandchildren, Janson McCormick, McKenzie McCormick, Josee Hennon, Jayden Hennon, siblings, Butch (Joyce) McCormick, Rodney (Tina) McCormick, Casey (Carla) McCormick, Helen M. King of West Hills, CA, Karen (Mark) Taylor of Wapkoneta, OH, sister-in-law, Nancy Suarez, brother-in-law, Nick (Mary Good) Miller, and brother-in-law, Tony Miller.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Deb Dameron, Connie Suter, and sister-in-law, Linda Miller.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11:00AM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Rev. Tim Benjamin to officiate the service. Burial will follow at Salem-Westminster Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 2:00PM to 8:00PM at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL HOME, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Rodney McCormick, Elaine Moneers and Kenny Miller who have been a tremendous help and support. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

My deepest sympathy to the family. I have enjoyed working with Monte from 1994 until he retired from Superior Forge. He has been and will be terribly missed by all that knew him. I will most miss his laugh and him jumping when he's been goosed. I hope you fine comfort in the memories you had with him. May God bless you all.
