LIMA — Dennis L. "Denny" Boss Sr., age 84, was ushered into Heaven because of his belief in Jesus Christ at 1:40 pm Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Hospital, Westerville, Ohio.

Denny was born September 19, 1932 in Graytown, OH, to the late Harry H. and Mable (Furman) Boss. On March 20, 1986 he married Pamela J. "Pam" (Fox) Boss who survives in Lima.

Denny was a graduate of Waite High School, Toledo, Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Denny previously worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for his father's company, Harry Boss Excavating in Martin, Ohio and retired from Stedke Construction in Lima after 32 years, belonging to the Ohio Operating Engineers Local Union #18 for over 50 years. Denny was a life time member of Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and the Gold Wing Touring Association (GWTA), Northwest PT Cruiser Club and Good Sam RV Club Lima Chapter #25. In his younger years he enjoyed camping and was a Master Mechanic. Denny loved the Lord and expressed that love through Gospel Music, which was an important part of his life. He grew up singing with his siblings, playing the drums and trumpet, leading singing in the church choir and singing in a quartet with Youth for Christ. He instilled the love for music in his children and loved singing together with his family. Dennis especially enjoyed spending time with his family, riding motorcycles with his son, camping and water skiing.

He was blessed with a family who loved him dearly, wife, Pamela J. "Pam" Boss of Lima; children, Debra Hullinger of Akron, Denise (Scott) Dell of Palm Coast, FL and Denny Boss, Jr., of Akron; step-children, Craig Long of Kansas City, MO, and Cynthia Fox of Lima; grandchildren, Greg (Abby) Hullinger, Shanna Johnson, Gina (Mark) Allen, Angela (Jason) Leindecker, Gayla Hullilnger, Katie (Sam) Amico, Kaitlyn Barrow, Kayla Fox, Erica (Jordan Blythe) Fox, Ashley Fox and 13 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include, sisters, Ruth Walters, Betty "BJ" (Dave) Hamilton; brother, Will (Cindy) Boss and first Wife, Shirley Patterson.

He is preceded in death by a Grandson, Brandon Dick, great-grandson, Tommy Allen and brother-in-law, Richard Walters.

Funeral services will begin 10:30 am Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Crossroads Church of God, 775 S. Thayer Road, Lima, Ohio 45806. Pastor Robert Brown will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and VFW #1275.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, March, 28, at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
