NORMAN SWANEY
LIMA — Norman Eugene Swaney, 84, of Lima passed away at home after a long illness, on November 7, 2015.
He was born on June 26, 1931, to Lloyd and Mary Swaney. On January 31, 1953, he married June A. Riggle, who survives in Lima. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and worked at the Lima Post Office until 1985. He also worked at Shrider's Sohio in Harrod.
He is survived by his wife, June, and children: Janice (Rod) Sanford, Bonnie Swaney, and Norman (Nancy) Swaney. Grandchildren include Laura (Mike) Vorwerk, Blaine Sanford, Amber (Sean) Anderson, and Drew (Paige) Swaney. Great grandchildren are Carlee Anderson and a baby Vorwerk, due in April. Surviving siblings include Larry (Pat) Swaney, Ralph Swaney, Wava (Leo) Mitchell, Judy Craig, Ruth Ogletree, Mary (David) Augsburger, and John (Jo) Swaney.
Deceased siblings include Russell (Rosie) Swaney, Charles (Jean) Swaney, Donald (Donna) Swaney, and Sharon Rose Swaney.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Rita's Hospice, 959 W. North Street, Lima, OH 45805.
Arrangements were handled by CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL.
