LIMA -- Paul W. Pierson, Jr., 83, passed away June 17, 2023, at 10:15 am, at Lost Creek Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul was born July 12, 1939 in Lima, OH, to Paul W. and LaDonna I. (Knittle) Pierson, Sr., who both preceded him in death. Mr. Harold R. Baker and Mr. Robert Mathney were his step-fathers, and they also preceded him in death.
On August 18, 1965 he married Linda K. McLoughlin Pierson who is deceased. On September 10, 1978, he married Sandra K. Sprague who died on August 2, 2013 of cancer. They were married thirty five years.
Paul retired from Allen Correctional Institution. He enjoyed working with wood, building and remodeling their home, making crafts, fishing, visiting and drinking coffee with his friends at the Lickety Split and Lulu's. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Paul is survived by his children, Paul W. (Tina) Pierson, III of Lima, OH, Sonja (Ray) Hodges of Warsaw, OH, siblings, Joe Baker, Harold "Eugene" Baker of Elida, OH, Shirley (Ronald) Tippie of Lima, OH, Barbara "Barb" Schultz of Van Wert, OH, Evelyn (Terry) Fedele of Ohio City, OH, Karen (John) DeSoto of Ohio City, OH and Janet Davis of Lima, OH and four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by son, Kevin Pierson, siblings, Emory Pierson, James "Jim" Baker, Grover Pierson and Betty Armentrout.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 6:00pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Eastside Chapel Pastor Matthew Oliver to officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Eastside Chapel.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family during this difficult time.
