RANDY TOMLINSON
LIMA — Randy L. Tomlinson, 63, died at 12:43 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, Ohio.
Randy was born on July 24, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Robert Tomlinson and Annabell (Burden) Tomlinson.
He had worked at Dana Corp for 40 years. He was a member of UAW Local 1765. He served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the Eagles #370 and the Moose Lodge #199. He loved his family, hunting, his Harley Davidson, The Ohio State Buckeyes, boating and camping. Randy was not a formal guy-family requests casual attire or Harley or OSU clothing worn for visitation and funeral.
He is survived by: his fiance, Barb (Scoles) VanAtta, of Lima, OH; his son, Adam (Amanda) Tomlinson; of Lima, and his daughter Lindsey Tomlinson of Dayton; seven grandchildren, Noah, David, Joseph, Julian, Gabriel, Julianna, and Tristen; four step children, Jenny VanAtta, Ashley (Ramon) Jimenez VanAtta, Annie (Dustin Hites) VanAtta and Hannah VanAtta; former wife, Mary (Smith) Lotz; seven siblings, Bob (Connie) Tomlinson, Kim (Charles) Hudnell, April (Ronnie) Dickson, Chris Castillo, Allan Melson, Mike Melson, Dick Rudy all of Florida.
He was preceded in death by: his grandchild Elijah Jimenez
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 02, 2014, with a F.O.E. Service at 8:00 PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 03, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. with Pastor Perry Eagy officiating.
Interment of cremated will be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Veterans Food Pantry, 810 W. North St., Lima, Ohio 45801

This breaks my heart I just spoke to Randy at my grandmas funeral a few weeks back. It was always great to see him, he gave me a big hug and we talked about the reunion next year. Randy was always so nice to me. Love you Randy see you again give grandma and grandpa a hug for me. Praying for everyone who loves Randy

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Randy in the labor department for 2 1/2 years and got to know him and we had some good times together. He will be greatly missed. May you feel the comfort of famiy and friends during this difficult time.

We spent alot of good times with Randy through the years, and so saddened of this loss..His gentleness and kindness is one of his greatest strengths..
