RICHARD REPASZ

LIMA — Richard J. Repasz, age 90 of Lima, died at 10:03 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at his residence.

He was born May 4, 1925 in Lima, Ohio; to the late Joel Abner and Alma P. Miller Repasz. On January 11, 1947 he married Mary G. Butturff, who died June 18, 2006.

Mr. Repasz retired in 1985 after 33 years as a supervisor with Standard Oil of Ohio. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, receiving the purple heart medal. He was a member of Trinity, and formerly Grace United Methodist Church of Lima; the Lima Noon Optimist Club, the American Legion Post #96, and the V.F.W. Post 1275, both of Lima. He enjoyed volunteering and was a past board member and treasurer with the Allen County American Cancer Society.

Survivors include a son - David Joel (Deborah) Repasz of Houston, TX; 3 daughters - Gretchen Sue (Vernon) Best of Riverside, OH; Ellen Marie Lucas of Scottsdale, AZ; Joyce Renee (David) Graves of San Fransico, CA; 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers - Robert Repasz, Donald Repasz, a sister - Dorothy Long; a son-in-law - Daniel Lucas.

Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. David Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Grace Fund or the American Cancer Society.

I am so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies. I enjoyed working with Dick when I was secretary in the Maintenance Dept. He was a very special person.
