ROBERT BIBLE
LIMA — Robert L. Bible Sr., 83, passed away at 10:07 pm July 4, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family after suffering an extended illness.
Robert was born October 29, 1932 in Lima to Leo F. and Clara E. (McElroy) Bible who preceded him in death. On May 18, 1957 he married Verna I. Epps who preceded him in death on June 27, 2012.
He attended Lima Central High School. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict from January of 1951 until December of 1955 then active reserves until 1960. He retired from Meadow Gold Dairy after 39 years and then worked at the Kewpee for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, walking his dogs, watching Nascar, Buckeyes and Browns, birds and feeding them, spending time with his family, especially his Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and his Granddogs and giving them treats.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters, Debra Conner of Lima, Tamara (Stephen) Kraft of Elida; a Son, Robert L. Bible, Jr. of Tiffin; a Sister, Rita (Carl) Johnson of Taveres, FL; 5 Grandchildren, Melissa (Mike) Whitehair of Montello, WI, Jennifer (James), and Michelle (Dan) Sproul of Lima, Daniel Angel of Ft. Wayne, Andrea Kraft of Elida; 10 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Granddogs.
He was preceded in death by: 3 Brothers, 3 Sisters, a Grandson, and a Great-Grandson.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE EASTSIDE CHAPEL with Chaplain John Hyter officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by VFW Post 1275 and the US Air Force.
Friends may call from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at Eastside Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to a Humane Society or Animal Rescues.
