Roger Bible Obituary

Roger L. Bible, 85, of Montpelier passed away on Jan. 31, 2026, at his son's home in Hastings, Michigan. He was born on Jan. 29, 1941, in Bryan to Paul and Doris (Waterston) Bible. Roger graduated from Montpelier High School in 1959. He was a member of Bridgewater Community Church.

For over 30 years Roger was employed by Powers and Sons in Montpelier. Prior to that he worked in the construction field for seven years, Gordon Johncock Racing for seven years and Mohawk and Tool in Montpelier for seven years. Roger's passions and loves were racing and farming.

He is survived by four children, Kelley (Robert) Briner of Montpelier, Debra Wilson of Hamilton, Indiana, Georgene (Randy) Manges of Edon and Rusty (Sarah) Bible of Hastings, Michigan, Pamela Suds of Clinchco, Virginia; 10 grandchildren, 19 ½ great-grandchildren; and long-time companion Margaret Yarger. Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation hours for Roger will be held on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, from 10 a.m.-noon at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will immediately follow at noon with the Rev. Ric Dye to officiate. The interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial contributions can be made to Bridgewater Community Church or the The Parkinson's Foundation. Roger was a good friend for 50 years. We shared a like appreciation for race cars, especially supermodifieds. He was truly a unique individual and a neat little guy. I will miss him tremendously.
RIP my friend.
