LIMA -- Ronald "Ron" Bible, age 81, passed on February 25, 2026. He was born on August 3, 1944, in Lima, to Betty McElroy Maloney and Charles Bible, who both preceded him in death. Ron lived a life defined by dedication, service, and a genuine love for people.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Kowalczyk Bible. He was a proud father to Megan Bible Tostado, who preceded him in death in 2015, and Derek Bible. He also survived by Jodi Bible Morman and Eric Bible, whom he loved dearly.
Ron is survived by his siblings: Rick (Marilee) Bible, Tim Bible and Roxanne (Joe, who preceded her in death in 2021) Bible Conrad. He also leaves behind seven beloved nieces and nephews: Michael Conrad, Shauna Conrad Finch, Erin Conrad Kessler, Laura Bible Schulz, Cari Bible Wittwer, Brian Bible, and Troy Bible, all of whom brought him great pride and joy.
Ron graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1962 and went on to further his education at George Williams College in Chicago. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University and later completed his Master's degree at the University of Dayton. His commitment to education was not only academic but lifelong.
For 30 years, Ron dedicated himself to teaching American and Ohio history at Bath Schools, where he inspired generations of students with his deep knowledge and passion for the past. He later continued to shaping young minds by teaching American History at the University of Northwestern Ohio. Beyond the classroom, Ron served his community faithfully as an American Township Trustee, reflecting his enduring commitment to public service.
Ron had a lifelong love of historical travel, always eager to walk the grounds where history had unfolded. He found equal joy at home, taking pride in his yard work and caring for his surroundings. Above all, Ron never met a stranger. His warm personality, steady presence, and genuine interest in others left lasting impressions wherever he went.
Ron will be deeply missed by his family, friends, former students, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely.

I really didn´t know Ron except at LSHS. I moved after graduation. After reading about him here, I sure would have liked to have been connected with him/know him.

Mr. Bible was pool manager at Lost Creek CC. He was so friendly, kind, and such a great guy!
My parents Bill and Joan Bell respected him and thought he was great as a teacher and pool manager!

RIP Mr. Bible. You were a good teacher at Bath Schools. I enjoyed your class. In later years you stopped by my home when you were campaigning. I admired you for being involved in the community.
