Robert Hamp

1956 - 2025

LIMA -- Robert "Bob" A. Hamp, age 68, was a kind-hearted, hard-working husband, father and brother. He passed away on January 30, 2025, at 12:08 pm, at the James Cancer Center in Columbus after a valiant battle with cancer.

Bob was born July 3, 1956, in St. Marys, Ohio, to Raymond and Nina (Bruening) Hamp as the second of their five children. In 1974, he graduated from Elida High School, and then moved to Cape Coral, Florida where he met and eventually married Tina Bouse on October 11, 1986. He retired as a foreman for Cape Coral's Water Utilities Department after twenty-five years of service, and then returned to Ohio, where he worked at Meijer Grocery and Toledo Molding Die. After relocating to Lima, Bob enjoyed gaming, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife Tina Marie Hamp, of Lima; children William Hamp of Lima, Kenneth Hamp of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Nicole Hamp of Lima, and Kaitlin Hamp of Delphos; brothers Randy (Pam) and Todd (Judy) of Lima, and Kevin (Jennifer) of Findlay, Ohio; brother in-law, Dave Davis of Cridersville, Ohio; sister in-law, Tracy Smith of Pineland, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Laurie (Dave) Davis.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, February 6 in the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services at 1170 Shawnee Road, in Lima. Visitation prior to the service will begin at 2:00 PM.
