So sorry to hear of Bobs passing. I have known him since I was a little boy. ( I think I may have even attended his wedding.) He was always so nice to my father. (Wayne Roney) We lived on Beeler Road and Bob often drove by, stopped in and would visit with my dad. They mostly talked baseball and airplanes but it was so nice of him to spend time. Bob is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I'm honored to have known him.

So sorry but I will not get to attend as I have been hospitalized several times lately. I can remember riding on the Shawnee School bus and he was in first grade with the bluest eyes i have ever seen on a child. Long time neighbors and friends. Prayers for you all. Audrey Myers

I was a news reporter in the early and mid 1980s when Bob was an Allen County Commissioner. He was a great person to work with, he treated me fairly and was always accessible. When I would see Commissioner Mayer we talked about those "fun" times. He was always friendly and caring. I have great respect for the Commissioner. He did his best to improve Allen County. I am quite sad to learn about his passing, but pleased I had the opportunity to know Commissioner Bob Mayer.

I am very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Bob was truly an inspiration and mentor to me. I learned a great deal from Bob about how to treat the public fairly, and how to to be a good listener and always try to understand the other side of an issue. Bob was a professional in every sense. I always had the utmost respect for Bob while I worked for him. He will be truly missed. The community has lost a great leader and a great person.
