ROBERT SEWELL
LIMA — Robert J. Sewell, age 52, passed away December 27, 2015, at 5:30 pm, St. Rita's Medical Center.
Robert was born November 26, 1963 in Lewisville, AR, to James E. and Florence Ann (Curry) Sewell. His father survives in Detroit and his mother preceded him in death. On September 22, 2001 he married Katherine A. Sewell who survives in Lima.
Robert was a 1982 graduate of the Stamps High School in Stamps, AR. He also attended the Southern Arkansas University for one year. Then he joined the U.S. Army and served for 13 years of which some of the time was during the Desert Storm. Once returning home from serving his country he took a position with the International Paper Company and had worked there for 19 years and had recently held the position as a shipping coordinator. Robert was a member and deacon at the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church, where he also sang in the choir. Robert loved to sing and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Robert is survived by a daughter, Sydney Sewell of Lima, OH, a son, Shandon Sewell of Lima, OH, a daughter, Tiara Sewell of New Albany, IN, a daughter, Ashley Sewell of New Albany, IN, and a son, Christian "CJ" Sewell of Lima, OH, 2 granddaughters; Ja'Niyah and Londynn, a sister, Gracie Brown of Lima, OH, a special uncle, Clim Curry, of Kansas and a brother-in-law, Keith Koch of Lima, OH.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Jones, a brother, Willis Jones and the aunt that raised him, Willie Mae Jones.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church. Officiating the service will be Pastor B. Lamont Monford Sr. Burial of cremated remains will be done privately at a later date.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 pm at the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Philippian Missionary Baptist Church.
The family has entrusted the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL in assisting them with funeral arrangements.

My deepest and most sincere sympathy to you Kathy and you family. I can't imagine the pain your going through, but God can handle things that we don't think we can. So give it to him to handle.
