LIMA -- Ronald "Ron" P. Mowery, 87, passed away on July 15, 2025, at 2:25 a.m. at Springview Manor Nursing Home.
He was born on March 29, 1938, in Lima, OH, to Paul and Delores (Spillner) Mowery, who preceded him in death. On September 29, 1963, he married Catherine (Lauck) Mowery, who preceded him in death on November 7, 2013.
Ron graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1956. He worked at Warner Swasey Corporation for fifteen years, then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as an electrician for over three years. In 1970, he began working at Dana Corporation as a cutter grinder and retired after thirty-seven years of service.
Ron enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was truly a jack of all trades-he could fix anything. He loved his wife dearly and cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children; Cynthia (Charles "Chuck") Spees of Lima, OH, Robert "Rob" Mowery of Lima, OH, Shawn (Amy) Mowery of Cridersville, OH, grandchildren; Josh Spees of Wapakoneta, OH; Jeremy (Kristie) Spees of Lima, OH; Brent (Nicki) Spees of Elida, OH; Ashley (Travis) Guisinger of Elida, OH; Jennifer (Kevin) Page of Lima, OH; Emily Mowery of Lima, OH; Christian (Melissa) Mowery of New Bremen, OH; Cayden Mowery of Lima, OH; Shelby (Jen) Sorensen of Pullman, WA; Aubree (Draven) Schaefer of Lima, OH; and Kaleb Mowery of Lima, OH, he is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Mowery, Judy Burden, and grandson, Hunter Mowery.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel, with Pastor Charlotte Hefner officiating. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleums.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., as well as on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Chapel.
