LIMA -- Ruth L. May, 94, passed away at 10:12 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Springview Manor.
Ruth was born on March 6, 1931, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, to the late Edward and Ruth (Romme) Johns. On January 1, 1963, she married Kermit C. May, who preceded her in death on April 9, 2004.
Ruth was a homemaker and had worked at RG Dunn Cigar Factory and then retired from Monsanto. She was very involved in church activities at Light House Baptist Church in Lima. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and reading. She was very involved in family activities and enjoyed being a part of her family's lives. She was a kindhearted giving person and gave generously to others.
She is survived by her children: William G. Mason, Sheila Mason, Randall (Kelly) Mason, Kathryn Mason, Timothy (Ada) Mason, Michael (Sue) May, and Rebecca May; stepson, Craig (Lora) May; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Johns and Robert Johns; two sisters, Jeanett Johns and Doris Bullock; and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the funeral home. Rev. Chris Page will officiate. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
