Samuel Guagenti Obituary
LIMA -- Samuel J. Guagenti, 88, of Lima passed away at 2:01 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at his residence.
He was born in Lima, Ohio to Joseph and Tillie (Zerante) Guagenti, who both preceded him in death. He married Rosalie Guagenti and she preceded him in death on October 17, 1993. In 1997, he married Denise McIntire, who survives in Lima.
Sam was retired from C & G Distributors, where he had served as the owner/president. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He was a past president of Wholesale Beer & Wine Association and CIAO.
Surviving are his children Sam J. (Diane) Guagenti of North Royalton, Ohio, Mark (Lyn Dunbar) Guagenti of Lima and Dona (Ron) Williams of Lima; his grandchildren Samantha, Jacob, Thomas and Rosie Williams, Allison, Danielle and Nicholas Guagenti, Cameron, Christian and Salvatore Guagenti. He is also survived by his brother Louis (Phyllis) Guagenti of Lima and his sisters-in-law Tiz Guagenti and Ann Guagenti, both of Lima.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Joe (Barb) Guagenti, John Guagenti and Francis Guagenti; his sister Gena (Dr. Gene) CaJacob.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 3, 2023 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel, where a parish wake service will follow at 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lima Central Catholic.
Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Sam & Brothers were the best mentors, bosses, & friends! I worked at C&G for over 11+ years (Thanks to Josephine Martino too)!
Their kindness & respect extended well beyond my employment!!
I loved Sam very much & missed him greatly after he remarried & stayed in Florida.(after I went to nursing school)...& asking about him often!! I´m sad just writing this post! So sorry to hear about your dad´s passing. My relationship with him started out as a business relationship but he became a good friend! Always looked forward to my lunches with Sam as well as John and Francie. I haven´t seen him for a few years but I have lots and lots of fond memories.

As the son of C&G's and Samuel's most loyal employee ( John Miller Sr.) I grew up with Sam and C&G in my life. I even worked for them when I first got married. I will always be grateful to Sam and his brothers for giving a broke new groom, with a baby on the way, a job! Sam always treated me with the same respect and friendship that he extended to my father! He will be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family!
