LIMA -- Steven Klaus, age 67, of Lima, OH passed away on July 22nd, 2025 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Steve was born June 22nd, 1958, to Jerome and LaDonna Klaus in Lima, OH. After graduating from Delphos St. John's High School in 1976, he moved between Florida and Ohio, working various jobs surrounding the distribution of chemicals. Steve loved working with his hands and could regularly be found inventing new methods to get a job done. He loved spending time at "the Lake" and was regularly captaining the family pontoon. He enjoyed watching sports with family/friends, including NASCAR/Indy Car racing, the Bengals, and the Buckeyes. In the last few years, he could be found loving on his grandchildren.
Steve is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debbie Klaus, of Lima. They had three sons, Jason (Kaitlyn), Jared, and Josh (Kaitlin). He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Jensen and Savannah Klaus, his sister, Patricia (Robert) Kramer, and his brother, David Klaus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome and LaDonna, his brothers, Gary (Agnes) and Kenny (Linda), his sister, Kathy, and his niece, Kari.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Fr. Kent Kaufman to officiate. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Shawnee Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Steve's honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
