TABATHA SCHMIDT

LIMA — Tabatha Jane Schmidt, age 48 years, passed away December 23, 2016, at 10:24 am, at Lima Memorial Health System.

Tabatha was born September 10, 1968 in Ft. Sumter, SC. On August 1, 2014 she married Eric R. Schmidt who survives in Lima.

Tabatha was a 1986 graduate of the Huntington High School. She then went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Tabatha had worked as a Dietitian Technician in the dialysis unit at Lima Memorial Hospital for 10 years and then for the last 13 years with the Allen County W.I.C. office as a Nutritionist-Dietitian. Tabatha also had worked as a Makeup Artist/Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay. She had also worked as an Independent Consultant at Paparazzi Accessories. Tabatha had attended the Shawnee Alliance Church and was currently attending the Crossroads Church of God. She was a very spiritual person. She enjoyed working out, scrapbooking for her kids, taking pictures and spending time with her family and friends. Tabatha loved summers at Indian Lake. Tabatha loved nothing more than a hot, sandy, tropical beach. She will be remembered as one that always put other people first and always looked for the good in everyone.

Tabatha chose to be an organ donor and fortunately for many, Tabatha gifted four lifesaving organs. Her heroics will change lives and live on forever.

In addition to her husband, Tabatha is survived by her parents; Judith (Pearl - "Daddy") A. Russell of Chillicothe, OH and Thomas J. (Sue) Worley of Omaha, NE, 7 children; Brett Casady, Blake Casady, Brayden Casady, Corbin Schmidt, Carder Schmidt, Caden Schmidt and Nolan Schmidt all of Lima, OH; a brother, Thomas (Monica) Russell of Marysville, OH and niece, Amelia Russell; father-in-law, Bob Schmidt of Lima; sisters-in-law, Sue (Tim) Christian and their children Kegan and Kier of Avon Lake, OH; Sondra (Josh) Ambrister and their children, Logan and Laken of Lima, OH; special friends, Sam, Hallie and Delaney Spetnagel and Kristy, Monica, Beth and Wendy along with many others.

She is preceded in death by mother-in-law, Jonalee Schmidt.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Entombment will be in the Gethsemani Cemetery following the service.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 5-8 pm at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL and then one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family which will be used to set up a memorial fund in her memory that will go towards the purchase of hats and gloves that will be distributed through the Lima Allen Co. W.I.C. program.
