LIMA -- Thomas P. "Tom" Golden, age 90, passed from this life on June 26th at home with his wife Mary Alice of almost 65 years by his bedside.
Tom was born March 3, 1935, in Lima, OH, to Hubert and Flossie "Fern" (Folk) Golden. On July 22, 1960, he married Mary Alice (Hale) Golden.
Tom attended school with the 1955 graduating class of Lima South High School. He retired from J.M. Sealts Wholesale Grocery Company in March of 1997 after a short illness. He was a longtime member of Cridersville Church of the Nazarene and was very active in the work of the church until recently.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice (Hale) Golden of Lima; two children, Thomas D. (Beverly) Golden of Lima, and Linnett F. (Glenn) Newland of Huntsville; grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Compton of Lima, Cody (Kacy) Golden of Harrod, Reese (Audri) Newland of Rushsylvania, and Rylee Newland of Huntsville; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Sophia, and Jayce Compton, Bryar, Korbyn, Paislynn, and Waylon Golden, and Perryann, and Ellianna Newland; and special niece, Marsha Klein.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Paul Golden and Duane Lehman, and sisters, Jeanie Klein, Phyllis Kissling, and Marlene Bassitt.
There will be a private viewing for family and invited friends in the chapel of the Memorial Park Mausoleum.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Cridersville Church of the Nazarene, 500 S. Dixie Hwy, 25A, Cridersville, OH 45806.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cridersville Church of the Nazarene Compassion Fund.
