LIMA — Thomas Lee Hetrick, 76, of Lima, passed away December 10, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Tom was born December 20, 1940 in Fostoria, OH to Oscar and Louise (Schumaker) Hetrick, who preceded him in death. On June 3, 1961 he married his wife of 56 years, Bridgette (Rinehart) Hetrick, who survives in Lima.
Tom was a 1958 graduate of Lima Central Catholic. He worked for many years as a machinist at Westinghouse, where he later retired in 1997. Tom loved gambling and card playing; he was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Jeff (Darcy) Hetrick; grandchildren, Hannah Lee Hetrick and Jacob Thomas Hetrick; great-grandson, Jaxon Hetrick; brothers, James (Dianna) Hetrick and Bob (Joyce) Hetrick; sister, Nancy (Bill) Sprang; sister-in-law, Cindy (Tommy) Griffin; brother-in-law, Jack (Connie) Rinehart; many nieces and nephews and friends and neighbors, Evelyn Smith, Dorothy and Marshall Pierce, Steve and Shannon Mellano & Bob and Marianne Betts.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Triplett.
Funeral service will be held at 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL with Rev. Tim Benjamin to officiate the service. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at chiles-lamanfh.com.
